“I” House*

“I” House, a mansion “I” treasured

with concrete walls of pain and pleasure

Roof, a dome of social conformity

Furnished with rich rules and hypocrisy

Marbles of fear lining the floors

A large guilt painted entrance door

drapes of religion shading the windows

and many rats racing around in limbo.

One fine day “I” heard love’s knock

Impetuously,”I” turned the lock

Light itself stood in all its glory

Bursting with life “I” became a memory

What remained was a shadow sublime

Tranquil and still and frozen in time

Aha! Lol

So shadow lives in light obstructed

like life lives in love obstructed.

Now though light is gone, has it really gone

Doesn’t love exist in many forms

In happiness and sorrow

In joy that we borrow

and so in star drenched moonlight

or in radiant bright sunlight

The door of this house remains ajar

and shadow comes alive as love’s  avatar.
