Understanding Guilt

Behind friendly cordial camaraderies

Behind polite respectful acceptances

Behind healthy balanced compromises

Behind composed sensible appearances

I sensed some rigid doctrinaire ideals

I sensed some judgmental boundaries

I sensed some empty embellishments

I sensed some prejudiced tyrannies

But daring to  inhale the smell of wilderness

But daring to absorb the vastness of the sky

But daring to get soaked in pouring  rain

But daring to flit around like a butterfly.

Gradually the doctrines became speculative

Gradually the judgments became unverified

Gradually the embellishments became flimsy

Gradually the prejudices became unjustified

And so I realized yang is just as trivial as yin

And so I realized virtue is just as trivial as sin

And if  I can only unburden myself from  guilt

cleanliness within is enough to breed a momin*.
